We are seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our strong organization and growing team as an Onboarding Member Opportunity Advisor located at our Corporate Headquarters in Lancaster, SC. The Onboarding Member Opportunity Advisor is responsible for researching and analyzing membership, consumer loan, and mortgage loan applications including denied applications to ensure all cross-selling opportunities have been offered by Founders. The position will require the ability to cold call members and ask for their business.

Responsibilities and Duties

The Onboarding Member Opportunity Advisor will build and improve member relationships by engaging with the members in an omnichannel environment, effectively meeting the membership in each format they prefer.

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Research existing account relationships, existing credit files, and reports to determine available cross-selling opportunities to best meet the potential needs of individual members.
  2. Efficiently and effectively communicate findings to individual members via outbound calls or secure messaging.
  3. Support marketing campaigns with data mining and member follow up.
  4. Interact with membership through all channels using exceptional written and verbal communication.
  5. Collaborate with other departments, including but not limited to Branch Operations, Consumer Lending, Mortgage, and Marketing to ensure best in class member experience when presenting the membership with new products, services, and opportunities.
  6. Assist with loan approvals to members within Lending Matrix guidelines. Seek further approval for loan requests exceeding set limits.
  7. Always Think Member and look for opportunities to serve the membership in the best interest of the member and the credit union.
  8. Comply with Founders’ policies and procedures, as well applicable laws, regulations, and statutes issued by federal agencies such as NCUA and FFIEC, including, but not limited to, GLB and BSA. Employees have legal and regulatory obligations to respect and protect the privacy of information and its integrity and confidentiality.
  9. All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

The Onboarding Member Opportunity Advisor must have at least a 2-year degree or 3 years credit union experience working with complex issues. The Advisor must possess well-developed interpersonal and communication skills along with the ability to work efficiently and independently in a fast-paced environment. Must be a self-starter who is comfortable with sales, demonstrating a high level of knowledge of all Founders products and services, as well as a strong belief in the values of being a Founders member. The Onboarding Advisor is expected to continuously learn, with a professional and detail-oriented demeanor. Must have complete knowledge of Founders’ Membership and Loan Policy, loan programs, and procedures.


The Onboarding Member Opportunity Advisor must be available to work in various offices as needed.
