Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPipefitterTemp-to-Hire Pay: $26.00 - $28.00 (depending on experienceShift: Monday thru Thursday, 10-hour day shift (with potential OT working on Fridays) Responsibilities/Job Duties:
  • Plans, prepares, installs, and maintains piping and plumbing systems composed of various materials. Systems may include pipes, pressure and vacuum gauges, pipeline filters, steam traps, and strainer valves.
  • Consults blueprints, work orders, schematics, or instructions; creates working procedure based on specifications.
  • Gathers equipment and materials for the job.
  • Welds, cuts, bends, threads, solders, and fits pipes.
  • Attaches pipes and piping systems to walls using brackets, bracket systems, or clamps, cuts, or bore holes prior to project.
  • Installs various types of insulation and pipe covering; safely removes and properly discards of old coverings according to hazardous waste procedures and in accordance with EPA and OSHA requirements.
  • Inspects pipes, testing for pressure and leaks; reports and/or resolves problems.
  • Coordinates with manager to schedule machinery maintenance, repairs, and installation to minimize disruption to operations.
  • Complies with applicable safety and building codes, regulations, and best practices.
  • Maintains records, including safety logs and inspection details.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Ability to read schematics and blueprints.
  • Ability to use a variety of tools, which may include blowtorches, saws, pipe benders, and welding torches.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Skilled use of MS Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
Education and Experience:
  • Successful completion of a four-year apprenticeship that included classroom and on-the-job instruction in pipefitting or related field.
  • Valid state license.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods standing and stretching to install and repair pipes and pipe fittings.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must possess visual acuity required to inspect piping systems and read plans or blueprints.
