GiaCare Inc. is now accepting resumes for experienced, civilian Speech Therapists in support of the 96th Medical Group at Eglin Air Force Base (Florida).


Speech Therapist Qualifications:

Degree/Education: A Masters or Doctoral degree in communication disorders or speech pathology from a speech pathology program acceptable to the USAF Surgeon General and accredited by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).

Certifications: Maintain current certification of Clinical Competency in speech-language pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. The contractor shall hold current Healthcare Provider (HCP) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification using American Red Cross guidelines or American Heart Association guidelines. Computer-based training does not constitute fulfilling the training requirements. Maintain current certification of Certified Brain Injury Therapy from Academy of Certified Brain Injury Specialist (ACBIS).

Experience: Shall have 24 months of experience within the last 36 months.

Licensure/Registration: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a speech therapist.

Speech Therapist Job Duties:

  • Incorporate new clinical procedures sufficient to perform clinical services independently.
  • Conduct patient assessments; provide treatment interventions and consultation to other healthcare professionals.
  • Use instrumentation (e.g., videofluoroscopy, nasendoscopy, stroboscopy, computer technology) to observe, collect data, and measure parameters of communication and swallowing, or other upper aero-digestive functions in accordance with the principles of evidence-based practice.
