Job Overview: As a QA Analyst/Lead, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of two related applications - "Geo Spatial" and a Data Pipeline. You will work closely with the development teams, product managers, and other stakeholders to develop and execute test plans, identify and report bugs, and ensure that our products/services meet the highest standards of quality.


Key Responsibilities:


Develop Test Plans and Strategies:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand product requirements and design comprehensive test plans and strategies.
  • Define test objectives, scope, and timelines for each testing phase.

Execute Test Cases:

  • Execute test cases (including negative test cases) and scenarios manually or using automated testing tools.
  • Conduct functional, regression, integration, and performance testing as required.
  • Identify, document, and track bugs/issues using issue tracking systems.

Automated Testing:

  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts using testing frameworks/tools such as Cypress, Selenium, JUnit, or similar.
  • Integrate automated tests into the continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline.

Collaborate with Development Team:

  • Work closely with developers to understand system architecture, technical specifications, and potential areas of risk.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on testability and potential quality issues.


Quality Assurance Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to improve the QA process, tools, and methodologies.
  • Implement best practices for testing, including test data management, test environment setup, and test execution.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Create and maintain test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test reports.
  • Generate and communicate test metrics and reports to stakeholders, highlighting areas of concern and improvement.

Training and Mentoring:

  • Train and mentor junior QA team members on testing techniques, tools, and processes.
  • Share knowledge and best practices within the QA team and across departments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a QA Analyst/Lead or similar role in software development/testing.
  • Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Experience with test automation tools/frameworks (e.g., Cypress, Selenium, JUnit, TestNG).
  • Proficiency in programming/scripting languages such as Java, Python (ideal), or similar.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Certifications such as ISTQB, CSTE, or similar are a plus.
