Summary 

We are looking for a fully remote ServiceNow Developer / Site Reliability Engineer to join our growing organization. Our SRE  team works closely with our other engineering teams focused on cloud infrastructure and applications to keep the system running effectively. In this position, you will contribute to monitoring and operating Wellhive’s production system and making improvements to operational processes and infrastructure. You will see the outcome of your work through improved reliability of the system, as well as through improved developer experience for other teams within the organization. Having a strong background in ServiceNow development is a must. As we scale out to meet the needs of our customers, reliability, efficiency, and security become critical needs. Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field
  • 2-4 years of ServiceNow development and administration experience.
  • Experience with one or more general purpose programming languages. We use Golang, Javascript, and TypeScript primarily, but we don’t specifically require experience with either 
  • Experience with version control, especially Git and Github capabilities
  • Ability to work fully remote within the continental USA in an Eastern or Central time zone (Excluding New York)
  • High speed internet connection
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be a US citizen or Permanent Resident
Desired Qualifications
  • Software development background preferred 
  • Experience with scripting languages like Bash, Python, and Powershell
  • Proficiency in Splunk (writing queries, creating dashboards, alerts, etc)
  • ServiceNow Certifications(ServiceNow Certified Administrator/Developer, etc)
  • Experience with Linux and/or Windows administration
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment
 

Essential Job Functions 

  • ServiceNow
    • Provide technical governance for development activities.
    • Develop and modify ServiceNow workflows, forms, lists, business rules, script includes, and UI components.
    • Provide solutions through configuration and/or customization including, but not limited to user interface, workflow administration, reports, data imports, integration, custom scripting, and third-party software integrations by applying best practices.
    • Hands on experience with ITSM, CMDB, CSM, Service Catalog
    • Administer ServiceNow through upgrades and patches. 
    • Identify ServiceNow system deficiencies and recommend solutions.
    • Participate in creating and developing standards, best practices, support guidelines and procedures.
  • Site Reliability
    • Write custom code for multiple purposes(tools, IaC, configuration, etc)
    • Make the production system more reliable and easier to operate through improvements to operational procedures, tools, automations, and infrastructure
    • Work collaboratively with other engineering teams responsible for building the applications and services that sit atop the cloud infrastructure
    • Contribute to infrastructure and process improvements that will make all of WellHive’s engineering teams more efficient
    • Participate in code reviews, design sessions, and all sprint ceremonies (standup, sprint review, retrospective, grooming)
    • Provide technical leadership (e.g. during designs or in your detailed and constructive peer reviews)
    • Proactively research emerging technologies, evaluate their suitability in our existing tech stack and incorporate them when business needs warrant
    • Participate in on-call incident resolution schedule rotation
    • Provide coaching and mentoring by helping others
