Fresh Baguette is a fast-growing, artisanal bakery known for its high-quality standards and modern atmosphere. The company was founded in Bethesda, MD in 2013, to bring fresh, made-from-scratch organic breads, pastries, sweets, and croissant items inspired by bakeries in France to the DMV area. We have expanded to six retail locations, a production bakery, and a thriving wholesale business. We serve coffee shops, restaurants, hotels, and grocery stores with fresh products every day, 365 days a year.

We are growing and constantly looking for passionate people to join our team. We are seeking talented and dynamic Full-Time Baristas for our new Terrell Place, DC bakery cafe (575 7th St NW, Washington, DC 20004) expected to open in September 2024.

You will be training at our other locations prior to the opening day.

Shifts:

  • Our shifts typically start as early as 6am and end as late as 7pm, 7 days per week.
  • Morning shifts: 6:00AM-1PM
  • Afternoon shifts: 1:00PM-7PM
  • 6-8 hour shift
  • 5 Days a week including Saturday and Sunday


As a Barista you will be:

  • Living by Fresh Baguette’s core values: Integrity, Respect, Reliable, Team player, Committed, and Customer Oriented
  • Providing friendly and prompt customer service
  • An expert of Fresh Baguette menu offerings
  • Follow recipes according to standard
  • Cash and credit handling at the cash register in a fun and efficient manner
  • Serving baked goods, breads, and pastries
  • Making and serving coffee, sandwiches, salads with care
  • Maintaining store safety, sanitation and proper food storage
  • Addressing and answering customer complaints
  • Paying close attention to the way products are displayed throughout the day and to the cleanliness of the store
  • Cleaning and prepping the store for the next day
  • Closing register

Requirements

  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
  • Open availability to work a variety of shifts, including weekends & mornings/afternoons
  • Availability to work on Holidays - Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, etc.
  • Physical exertion requirement to perform heavy work (such as frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds)
  • Strong Communication skills
  • Reliable transportation to work--living within walking distance and/or not dependent on public transportation
  • Ability to stand for 8 hours
  • Commute of less than 25 minutes
  • Experience working as a barista
