Job Description:
This position is a pivotal role within our Procurement department, catering to both internal and external stakeholders to achieve organizational strategic objectives while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. As a hybrid role, the successful candidate will engage in a combination of collaborative, in-person activities and independent remote work.
Responsibilities:
- Independently manage complex competitive procurement processes for goods and services supporting government and sponsor-funded initiatives.
- Follow established procedures, policies, and federal regulations to execute purchasing activities ensuring organizational interests are upheld.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with various teams including legal, engineering, and program management to prepare and execute complex purchases.
- Lead negotiations on terms of purchase, Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) clauses.
- Manage a diverse workload, procuring a range of supplies and services while developing new supply sources where necessary.
- Assist in the preparation and execution of Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Quotes (RFQs) in a timely manner.
- Conduct thorough bid examinations, including price and/or cost analysis, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Review terms and conditions, identifying deviations from company policy and proposing risk mitigation strategies.
- Prepare comprehensive documentation to satisfy departmental requirements and internal/external audits.
- Collaborate with other departments regularly, providing procurement counsel and advice to requisitioners.
- Participate in special assignments and cross-training opportunities as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years of relevant government procurement experience.
- Proficiency in modern principles and practices of large-scale procurement and supply-chain management.
- Experience buying across various commodities such as electronics, mechanical components, services, and software.
- Working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and other relevant government regulations.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to deploy a systematic approach to work.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- US Citizen with the ability to obtain a government clearance.
