Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads the design, implementation, operation, and maintenance of complex information system containerization infrastructure, including both bare metal and virtualized installations.
  • Maintains relevancy with commercial containerization solutions, processes and architectures to keep pace with industry offerings and trends.
  • Leads the design and Implementation of system enhancements, ensuring that application software, cybersecurity, and operational use cases are fully accounted for.
  • Responsible for ensuring maximum system uptime and rapidly responds to hardware and software failures.
  • Quickly diagnoses operational, performance or other issues and leads the implementation of resolutions.
  • Regularly interacts with the customer to establish priorities and report on status of work. Supervises and mentors a team.


Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Must be skilled with Kubernetes application configuration, deployments, networking, storage, and infrastructure
  • Must be able to author and maintain scripts in a variety of languages, and utilize Infrastructure as Code tools and concepts to the greatest extent practical
  • Must be skilled with Linux system administration
  • Must have a functional knowledge of identity management and SSO architectures and tools
  • Must have a functional knowledge of modern PKI infrastructures and solutions
  • Must assure system stability, accessibility, and proper configuration of assigned technical systems and components
  • Must be a self-starter in a fast-paced environment and able to work with/manage a range of engineers holding a diverse set of skills at differing levels of experience
  • Be sensitive and flexible to the needs and requirements of the customer
  • Knowledge of and ability to implement cloud vendor best practices
  • Our environment is primarily built with Linux, VMware, and Kubernetes
  • Experience with private and hybrid cloud design/operation/monitoring/deployment:
  • VMware vCenter, VCF, VCD, NSX, and ESXi, generally maintained at the most current version
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn VMware Orchestrator to automate deployment and destruction of virtual machine, network, and other virtualized assets in VMware environments
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn Amazon Web Services
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn Google Cloud Platform, Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) On Prem, Kubernetes, and Docker
  • Use scripting languages for automation, administration, data collection and reporting
  • This job requires the ability to write, test, debug, deploy, and sustain scripts
  • Ability to configure manage, version control, and backup various scripts and work products created to execute and maintain the environment
  • Practical interpersonal and communication skills
  • Professionally convey system-wide performance information routinely via tools such as PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, etc
  • Solving technical problems involving a variety of integrated software and hardware platforms
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment
  • Required Education/Experience: Associate or Bachelors degree in a technical discipline, such as computer science or information technology, from an accredited college or university
  • Security+ or CISSP certifications are required or must be completed within four months of hire
  • Other Requirements: Please note that according to a government contract, this specific position requires U.S
  • Citizenship status and a Secret security clearance, with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI
  • Security Clearance requirement
