Job Duties

The CNC Machinist/Programmer is a critical member of the Operations team. The primary focus of this position is to support the fabrication of aluminum machining.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate is energetic, organized, detail-oriented, holds high professional rigor, can work without supervision, and has a thorough understanding of the manufacturing industry. Qualifications include:

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Create new CNC Programs using 3D solid models and 2D prints
  • Modify existing CNC Programs to transfer work between sites and/or to increase efficiency
  • Setup and run Haas VF-8, VM6, TL2 and EC-400 to deliver parts to customer design specifications
  • Participate in job-costing activities by estimating raw material and labor time estimates
  • Provide prototype-level manual machining support for internal operations
  • Provide guidance to engineering team on Design for Manufacturability
  • Order all raw material and tooling, and maintain Machine Shop inventory
  • Engage directly with tooling vendors to troubleshoot difficult programs and evaluate novel tooling concepts
  • Create and review bill of materials
  • Participate in peer design reviews of parts and tooling
  • Follow ISO including ECO, ECN process

Requirements

  • Humility - "that's not my job" is something we don't say around here
  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a machinist/programmer
  • Experience with SolidWorks and SolidCAM, Mastercam, or Fusion360
  • Ability to successfully interact with team members in complementary roles within the organization that have little machining experience
  • Experience machining molds (injection molds, pattern molds, etc) is a plus

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Journeyman’s card
  • Associates Degree or Trade School certification
  • Experience in an ISO9001 or AS9100 manufacturing environment
  • Experience with Aerospace & Defense manufacturing is a plus
  • Experience with Haas CNC Machinery is a plus
