The information described in this job description has been designed to indicate the general natureof the work performed. Administers therapeutic radiation treatments as part of the oncologypatient care team. Works effectively and cooperatively within the workplace. Location/Department specific tasks and competenciesmay apply.Essential FunctionsDeliver Radiation treatment through operation of the linear accelerator and associated imaging systems. Perform daily patient androom set up in accordance with each treatment plan. Perform accurate and timely documentation in the EMR. Ensure appropriatecharge entry for provided service. Perform EPID review. Maintain ability to effectively utilize Microsoft Office (Outlook) anddepartment specific software applications to perform work. Communicate effectively and cooperatively in the workplace. Activelycontribute to the achievement of Quality Improvement and Lean Process Improvement activities. Complete all mandatory learningrequirements in a timely manner. Maintain current licensure and/or certification as required. Attend and actively participate in alldepartment, team and/or committee meetings. Comply with all Skagit Regional Health, department and location specific policiesand procedures. Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor or designee.EducationGraduate of a Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (AMA) accredited Radiation Therapist program.Experience/TrainingPrevious experience as a Radiation Therapist preferred.License/CertificationsCurrent Washington State Radiologic Technologist registration required within 90 days of hire. Current American Registry ofRadiologic Technologists (ARRT) Radiation Therapy Registered or Registry (RT(T)) eligible. Completion of certification requiredwithin three (3) months of date of hire. Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS.Other SkillsEffective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills required. Must be able to effectively utilize Microsoft Officeapplications to perform work. Well-developed problem solving skills required. Must be able to effectively prioritize workloadamongst frequent interruptions with competing priorities. Knowledge of the healthcare environment required. Ability to coordinatework schedule with requirements of position (may include overtime and weekend work).Physical Demands and Work EnvironmentThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform theessential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Thisposition is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. Theemployee must frequently lift or move objects and patients weighing over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this jobinclude close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus.
