Your Career

Palo Alto Network’s IoT Security team is looking for a Software Quality Principal Engineer with experience in IoT Security testing and automation to fill a technical position. You will be part of a world-class software QA engineering team that works on various ground-breaking IoT security products, 

As a Software Quality Assurance Engineer, you will build, automate, and run functional testing scenarios for our products in virtualized elements. You are driven by your desire to get hands-on experience with a wide variety of API and UI testing. You'll work closely with our development and product management teams, testing and presenting the results to identify new approaches. You will participate in design discussions and help make a difference in developing the future direction of our software.

You will drive the efficiency and reliability of our products by testing them thoroughly to understand potential risks, bugs, or issues, providing an exemplary product experience for our end users. You strive for the best in everything you do—meaning you won’t rest until the products you work on are of the highest quality. You love hunting for problems within the code, seeking issues to correct, and enjoy the challenge of a code-based scavenger hunt that includes testing, providing feedback, and identifying alternative suggestions for our product’s environment.

Your Impact

  • Develop and execute software test cases & test plans to verify IoT security functionality, Performance & Customer Solution conformance while working & interacting closely with Product Management, and Software Development
  • Participate in feature review so that Quality Assurance is considered throughout the entire lifecycle of the IoT Feature Development 
  • Develop and/or Enhance Automated test cases to increase overall test coverage
  • Enhance Test strategies, Automation with feedback and analysis from real-world Customer deployments
Qualifications

Your Experience

  • 10+ years of relevant experience, with a BS or MS degree or equivalent military experience 
  • Experience with API/UI Automation using Python and Python with Selenium 
  • Expert level Experience with REST API testing driven Automation using Python
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and to work in a fast-paced, innovative environment learning new technologies
  • Experience with API/UI testing with distributed system 
  • Experience with writing test cases, test plans and filing defects when features are not working as expected
  • Experience with  basic Networking
  • Knowledge of OT security testing is a plus
  • Experience with Linux or Esxi Virtualization or Docker/Kubernetes is a plus
  • Experience with Cloud Technologies such as AWS is a plus

Compensation Disclosure

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $144,200/yr to $233,200/yr. The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus. A description of our employee benefits may be found here.
