2nd shift 4pm – 2am Monday – Friday (paid meal period)

SUMMARY/ OBJECTIVE: Under minimal supervision, this individual performs the duties of setting up and operating a conventional machine tools within the machining area, producing a variety of diversified finished parts. The position runs production lots, communicates with co-workers regarding productions runs, and maintains a safe, organized and clean work environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES: Responsible for operating manual machines. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. - Perform set ups for small production runs on Engine Lathes , Kneemills, Radial Drills, Horizontal Boring Mills, Key seater, Saws & Broaches. Raw material to a finished part from a drawing.
- Must be able to hold close tolerances within + or - .0005
- Must be able to read and interpret blueprints – GIT
- Must be able to operate overhead cranes and forklifts
- Inspect and check your own work, you are “Quality at the Source” and must have the integrity of filling out First Article Reports completely and with integrity.
- Ability to grind your own form tools, drills and special tooling and fixtures
- Follow all safety rules and procedures. Capable of working in a safe and productive manner.
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures
- Required to utilize shop math – bolt holes, angle, and trigonometry.
- Regularly performs milling, turning, drilling, tapping, de-burring, sawing and sanding tasks.
