Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Robotics Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. The Robotics Software Engineer will play a key role in designing, developing, and implementing software solutions for robotic systems and autonomous devices. This role requires expertise in robotics, motion planning, perception, and control systems, as well as proficiency in software development and integration.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement software algorithms and modules for robotic systems, including motion planning, path optimization, and control algorithms.
  • Collaborate with robotics engineers, hardware engineers, and cross-functional teams to integrate software with robotic platforms and subsystems.
  • Implement perception algorithms for sensor data processing, object detection, localization, and mapping (SLAM).
  • Develop and maintain software frameworks and libraries for robotic applications, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Design and implement interfaces for communication between software components, sensors, actuators, and external systems.
  • Conduct testing, debugging, and validation of software modules and systems in simulation environments and real-world scenarios.
  • Optimize algorithms and software performance for efficiency, latency, and resource utilization on embedded and distributed computing platforms.
  • Document software designs, specifications, and technical reports; participate in design reviews and code reviews.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in robotics and software engineering.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or related field.
  • Proven experience (X years) in robotics software development, with a focus on motion planning, perception, and control systems.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Python, and ROS (Robot Operating System).
  • Experience with robotics frameworks and middleware (e.g., ROS, Gazebo, MoveIt).
  • Solid understanding of robotics concepts including kinematics, dynamics, sensor fusion, and robot behavior modeling.
  • Familiarity with robotic simulation tools and environments (e.g., Gazebo, V-REP, Unity).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to troubleshoot complex software and hardware integration issues.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git), continuous integration, and agile development methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
