Job Description

We are seeking a talented Oracle Database Developer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing our development and demo data systems and spearheading the migration of one of our flagship products from SQL Server to Oracle.  Candidate will also help manage our cloud deployments in Amazon AWS.

As an Oracle Database Developer specializing in data improvement and migration, you will be responsible for the following key tasks:

  1. Data Analysis and Improvement:

    • Analyze existing data structures and identify areas for optimization and enhancement.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements for improving development and demo data.
    • Design and implement strategies to enhance data quality, consistency, and usability.
    • Develop and maintain data dictionaries, documentation, and standards.
  2. Migration from SQL Server to Oracle:

    • Help with the migration effort for one of our primary products from SQL Server to Oracle at the direction of our Senior Architect.
    • Develop and execute comprehensive migration plans, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
    • Conduct thorough testing to validate data integrity and system functionality post-migration.
  3. Database Development and Administration:

    • Design, develop, and maintain Oracle database schemas, tables, indexes, and views.
    • Optimize database performance and ensure scalability and reliability.
    • Implement security measures to protect sensitive data and comply with regulatory requirements.
    • Monitor database health and performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  4. Collaboration and Communication:

    • Work closely with software developers, system architects, and other stakeholders to align database solutions with business requirements.
    • Communicate effectively with team members and management, providing regular updates on project status and key milestones.
    • Collaborate with IT support teams to resolve technical issues and ensure smooth operation of database systems.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Database Developer with a focus on Oracle databases.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL programming languages.
  • Familiarity with Amazon AWS or Azure.
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle database administration, performance tuning, and optimization.
  • Experience with database migration, preferably from SQL Server to Oracle.
  • Familiarity with database design principles, data modeling techniques, and normalization.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • Oracle certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional) are a plus.


Additional Information

For New York, the expected salary range for this position is between $60,000 and $150,000 per year. In addition, INFICON employees are eligible for a profit sharing bonus with a target of 10%.  The actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law
