Willow Spring Mercantle in Excelsior Springs, MO is looking for one dishwasher/bussing assistant to join our 15 person strong team. We are located on 249 E Broadway. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, motivated, and engaged.


Responsibilities

  • Collecting used kitchenware from dining and kitchen areas
  • Washing kitchen items and dish items by hand
  • Store clean dishes, glasses and equipment appropriately
  • Help set up workstations before meal prep begins
  • Ensure there are always enough clean dishes, glasses and utensils, especially during peak hours
  • Removing used plates, glasses, cutlery and napkins from tables after diners are done eating
  • Wiping up water spills, food stains and dirt from tables
  • Straightening out the tablecloth or replacing stained ones and setting table back to proper order
  • Refilling paper napkins, salt and pepper shakers and any other depleted condiments on the dining table
  • Helping Servers as needed and requested by refilling drinking glasses with water, bringing out meal orders,removing dirty dishware as guests are finished dining
  • Ensuring throughout the day that dining areas are sanitary and attractive. 
  • Maintain cleaning supplies stock (e.g. detergents) and inform management when necessary to reorder and stock
  • Remove garbage regularly
  • Sanitize the kitchen area, including the walls, dish station & floor at the end of every shift

Qualifications

  • Ability to listen and follow instructions and help with various tasks of team, as needed
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Excellent customer service and people skills
  • Knowledge of food sanitation and safety policies
  • Strong attention to detail
  • High energy levels
  • Must be able to get a Clay County Food Handlers permit
  • Must be able to move efficiently and timely for the job at hand and have flexibility moving from task to task and the business flow demands
  • Time management skills are essential to the success of this job
  • Attention to detail and sanitation rules
  • Availability to work in shifts, during weekends as well
  • High school diploma is a plus
