Master Locksmith

GENERAL DUTIES

• Design master key systems.
• Changes lock combinations using code systems and code machines.
• Disassemble locks: troubleshoot and repair worn tumblers, springs, and other parts.
• Able to operate key-cutting machines, lathes, and drill press.
• Learn the characteristics of new materials and equipment and update skills to adapt to changing technology.
• Opens combination and keyed lock sets by means of manipulation and lock picking or by using power tools. Repairs and re-pins combination lock sets.
• Rekey, repair, or open high security locks.
• May assist in preparing routine reports, material lists, estimating job costs, and preparing job records.
• Responds to emergency situations of customers in a timely manner.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
• Operate equipment and machines, such as cars, trucks, forklifts, etc.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Certified Master Locksmith (CML)
• Repair and maintain existing lock systems.
• Must possess clean background.
• Technical or administrative experience in a manufacturing environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Must be able to stand, walk and lift for up to 8 hours daily.
• Vision abilities requires close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth
• Required to lift, push, pull, and/or carry up to 50 lbs. continually.
• May be required to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Moderately loud noise levels in plant environment.
• Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
