We are seeking a self-directed Instructional Designer (ID) to support our growing online asynchronous and synchronous degree programs. This remote position will require the ID to develop courses

materials and eLearning interactions, as well as support the development of student and faculty training programs.


The ideal candidate is someone with the ability to gather requirements and can work effectively across several different functional areas in a collaborative environment. Work samples must be provided or demonstration of use of instructional design/course authoring tools.

• Create interactive and engaging course content & build effective learning experiences

• Plan, develop, organize, and design instructional materials for a variety of certificate, undergraduate, and graduate.

• Utilize multimedia, instructional technology, and authoring tools to create online learning content

• Collaborate with SMEs to gather information about course goals and objectives

• Develop storyboards for online course development projects

• Design and incorporate skill/proficiency checks, practice exercises, and performance assessments

• Apply adult learning and multimedia principles and best practices

• Develop content incorporating subject matter expert (SME) input into clearly written and structured materials

• Provide input for modifications to course content and activities

• Ensure course development products comply with applicable guidance and regulations (SCORM,FISMA, Sections 508 and 504, style guides, etc.)

• Communicate and work directly with faculty in support of design and development efforts

• Other duties as assigned based on business needs

Minimum Qualifications:

• MS/MA degree in instructional design, education technology, digital media/multimedia, or similar

• 3 years working experience in instructional design and course development

• Working Laptop/Desktop with technical specifications needed for advanced multimedia production.

• Flexible schedule required (some evening work may be required)

• Experience using Articulate 360, Canvas, Adobe Creative Cloud, and MS Teams.

• Experience developing for various formats (on-ground, synchronous, asynchronous)

• Experience managing projects and collaborating remotely with team members.

• Proven ability in applying instructional design methodologies (ADDIE, SAM)

• Proven ability working with tight deadlines and in a fast-paced environment with limited resources

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with higher education faculty and staff

• Master of Science in Instructional Design

• Familiarity with HTML5, LTI, and RESTful APIs

• Familiarity with Quality Matters Higher Education Rubric 6.
