Lead Cook

PRIMARY FUNCTION:[1] To prepare various meals for the Children’s Center; maintaining the quality and nutritional standards as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:[1]

1. Under the direction of the Food Service Coordinator, provides nutritious meals meeting the guidelines and requirements of the pre planned menus meeting the requirements for the Child and Adult Care Food Program.
2. Maintains a clean working environment, which includes the food preparation and storage areas, in compliance with all regulations.
3. Helps to clear and wash dishes, pans and cooking utensils.
4. Receives food products and is responsible for the proper storage of materials.
5. Consistently follows all guidelines of the Health Department, the Child and Adult Care Food Program and the YWCA.
6. Maintains accurate kitchen logs in compliance with the Child and Adult Care Food Program and other regulatory requirements.
7. Safeguards confidential information gained as a result of the position.
8. Complies with applicable local, state and federal licensing requirements/certification and or regulations.
9. Complies with Association policy regarding required reporting of child abuse and neglect.
10. Works cooperatively with program participants, YWCA staff and volunteers.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.
