Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPURCHASING AGENTZing Professional Recruiting, in partnership with a prominent flavor/fragrance manufacturing company in Piscataway, NJ, is seeking an experienced Purchasing Agent to join their teamSUMMARY: Responsible for all duties associated with purchasing functions, including purchase order and sample entry into multiple systems; communication and follow up with suppliers; internal coordination with receiving and quality control departments.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: - Perform designated tasks associated with purchasing raw materials for production
- Access multiple computer systems to enter and retrieve information to process samples, purchase orders, and maintain purchase order status and costing information
- Actively schedule supplier meetings to obtain, interpret, and update the business on market and supply chain information
- Maintain and update market costing information for raw materials
- Perform associated tasks in the resolution of pricing discrepancies, complaints, late deliveries, quality and receipt issues.
- Participate in supplier review process
- Identify alternate suppliers and process samples into the QC queue.
- Provide support as required to the purchasing, procurement, and planning teams
- Knowledge and compliance to procurement values, practices, and principles.
- Other duties as assigned by the Manager

Ability to effectively present information (oral/written) and respond to questions from groups of managers, peers, and clients.

- Knowledge and understanding of Supply Chain and Purchasing concepts.
- 4-year undergraduate degree in business or science
- Minimum 3 years of purchasing or planning experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, Office 365
- Above Average competency in Microsoft Excel, Excellent Math Skills
- Strong vendor management and negotiating skills
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with ERP software - Oracle a plus.
