Product Lead, Cash App Pay Over Time
It all started with an idea at Block in 2013. Initially built to take the pain out of peer-to-peer payments, Cash App has gone from a simple product with a single purpose to a dynamic ecosystem, developing unique financial products, including Afterpay/Clearpay, to provide a better way to send, spend, invest, borrow and save to our 47 million monthly active customers. We want to redefine the world’s relationship with money to make it more relatable, instantly available, and universally accessible.
Today, Cash App has thousands of employees working globally across office and remote locations, with a culture geared toward innovation, collaboration and impact. We’ve been a distributed team since day one, and many of our roles can be done remotely from the countries where Cash App operates. No matter the location, we tailor our experience to ensure our employees are creative, productive, and happy.
Check out our locations, benefits, and more at cash.app/careers.
Over 40M Americans have poor or thin file credit. These individuals often struggle to make ends meet, and rely on predatory products like payday or pawn shop loans. At Cash App Lending, we offer alternatives that are far cheaper, simpler, and straightforward. The results speak for themselves: we have grown nearly 3x in the last 12 months, and we’re providing our customers with over $8B of credit access annually. We’ve got a long journey ahead, as we’ve realized less than 10% of our overall opportunity.
A major focus area is helping our customers pay over time, as our customers often can’t pay for essentials like groceries, gas, or school supplies. We recently launched a pilot that allows customers to pay over time for their recent Cash Card purchases and the results have been extremely promising. Your job will be to take our initial pilot, massively improve it, and scale it to millions of customers. This role has significant executive visibility and is a top priority for the company.
You will:
Partner with design and engineering to build a simple and delightful UX.
Partner with the ML team to maximize access to credit within risk loss constraints.
Partner with legal and compliance to keep us in good standing with our regulators.
Partner with other product teams to weave Pay Over Time into the broader Cash App ecosystem.
Drive cross functional and executive alignment around a vision and roadmap.
Like us, you’ll be deeply committed to delivering positive outcomes for users and passionate about shaping the future of Cash App. Additionally, we’re looking for
7+ years of product management experience delivering successful, innovative products.
Strong analytical abilities – ideally you’ve worked on ML or data-heavy products in the past, and are excellent at using data to make strategic decisions.
Strong product sense – you care deeply about design details and have great taste in design.
A driver’s mindset – you are biased toward action with no task too big or small.
A high quality bar – for the product, yourself, and the people you work with.
Customer obsession – you want to deeply understand our customers and make something great for them.
Highly preferred
Experience working in a high growth consumer business, whether FinTech or other
Experience leading and working with geographically dispersed teams
