Role Summary:

Arbor is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer with a balanced proficiency in both frontend and backend development. You'll join a dynamic team committed to clearing the fog around energy choices, enabling consumers to make informed, beneficial decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Eager Development: Contribute to the evolution of our consumer-facing UI/UX, with an agile mindset attuned to user behavior insights and A/B testing results.

  • Collaborative Growth: Support in shaping Arbor's engineering culture and tech vision, alongside hiring and team mentorship endeavors.

  • Adaptable Architecture: Assist in guiding our platform's architecture, focusing on modular design that scales and aligns with consumer needs.

  • Versatile Coding: Engage with a full stack approach, enhancing our platform through technologies such as Node.js, Typescript, and React, along with exploring new tech frontiers.

  • Data Handling: Partner with the data team to manage architectures, embracing tools like BigQuery and Snowflake, to promote data clarity and accessibility.

  • Quality Advocacy: Embrace rigorous testing, maintain CI/CD processes, and support the drive for efficient automation.

  • Uniting Teams: Help synchronize efforts across product, design, marketing, and business units to achieve a harmonious and compelling user experience.

Qualifications:

  • A driven spirit, passionate about demystifying energy choices and advancing clean energy solutions.

  • 5+ years of professional experience in software development.

  • A solid foundation in both frontend and backend technologies.

  • Familiarity with GraphQL, React, and other leading frontend technologies.

  • An understanding of A/B testing practices.

  • An automation-first mindset with a grasp of CI/CD principles.

  • Experience within GCP, AWS, or equivalent cloud ecosystems.

  • Hands-on experience with popular backend frameworks and tools.

  • Hands-on experience establishing and managing both relational and nosql databases.

  • Strong communication skills, both in writing and speaking.

  • The analytical prowess to deconstruct complex issues into actionable solutions.

  • A commitment to continuous learning and staying abreast of industry evolutions.

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.

Location & Work Environment:

While this position is fully remote, candidates should be located within a reasonable distance of one of our hub locations in Boston or Austin.
