We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook to join our home-delivered meals program. In this role, you will be essential in preparing nutritious and delicious meals for DFTA clients.

Responsibilities:

• Review recipes, assemble, combine, and cook ingredients while maintaining a sanitary kitchen environment.
• Execute cold food production in accordance with plating guide specifications and established standards.
• Pay close attention to the details and presentation of each order to ensure high-quality results.
• Place and expedite orders efficiently to meet program service standards.
• Excel in a fast-paced and stressful environment
• Maintain proper food safety requirements.
• Keep an organized and clean workstation

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of culinary or restaurant experience
• Excellent knife skills
• Previous experience in a cooking or food preparation role, preferably in a similar setting (e.g., home-delivered meals, catering, or restaurant).
• Experienced in dishwashing and sanitation
• Must own a complete knife and tool kit
• Impeccable standards of personal hygiene
• New York City Food Handler's Certificate
• Strong work ethic, well-organized, focused, attentive to details
• Dependable and punctual
• Proficiency in reading and following recipes.
• Ability to handle and cook a variety of ingredients, including cold food production.
• Strong attention to detail and presentation of food.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. and stand for at least 8 hours
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Familiarity with kitchen sanitation practices and food safety standards.

Salary: $18.00/hour
