Large Mid-Cities-based manufacturing and distribution company with sales in excess of $125 million in search of a self-directed and experienced Controller to oversee financial and accounting activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for financial analysis, forecasting, general ledger accounting and financial reporting. This is a terrific opportunity for a professional who enjoys a busy workplace and is experienced in working closely with senior management.

Job Description

  • Guides financial decisions and protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies, procedures and internal controls.
  • Monitors and confirms financial condition by conducting audits and providing information to external auditors.
  • Prepares budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; and recommending plans.
  • Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting and reporting financial data.
  • Complies with federal, state and local legal requirements by enforcing adherence to requirements, filing financial reports and advising management on needed actions.
  • Maintains financial staff by assisting with recruiting and training employees and planning, monitoring and appraising job results.
Qualifications

  • Experience in manufacturing, food processing or other labor-intensive industries with a focus on logistics
  • Background in cost accounting and cost control; accounting firm background not required
  • “Hands On” ERP Systems Experience
  • Significant experience working with internal controls and compliance-related issues
  • Education: BBA or BS in Accounting; CPA or MBA preferred
  • The ideal candidate will be well versed in managing processes, financial software, developing standards, accounting, corporate finance, analyzing information, developing budgets and performance management. Candidate should have several years of experience in senior accounting, have strong interpersonal and communication skills, and have the ability to work closely with the senior management team.
