RAM Aviation, Space & Defense is a manufacturer of quality electro-mechanical products for the Aerospace, Space, Military, Defense and Commercial markets.


We are searching for a 2nd shift Monday - Thursday (every Friday off) experienced CNC Machinist who will be hands-on and given opportunities to grow. This position is not an entry level position. The successful applicant must have direct, hands-on 5+ years of CNC Machining experience.


In addition, RAM offers tooling reimbursement after the introductory period is completed


POSITION SUMMARY

Set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts. Applies knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, and machining procedures.

Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ year's of applicable work experience is required
  • Work experience using Mazak or Citizen machines is required
  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Prefer 1 year Certificate in Machining Proficiency
  • Must be 18 years old

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes and milling machines.
  • Measure and examine completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers.
  • Set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools to perform precision machining operations.
  • Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, and materials onto machines.
  • Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
  • Follow prepared instructions outlining methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate products.
  • Select the appropriate tools and materials to be used in preparation of machinery work.
  • Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions and to determine need for adjustments or repairs.
  • Perform minor preventive maintenance.
  • Position and fasten work pieces.
  • Program computers such as numerically controlled machine tools.
  • Set controls to regulate machining.
  • Confer with engineering, supervisory, and manufacturing personnel to exchange technical information.
  • Confer with numerical control programmers to check and ensure that new programs will function properly, and that output will meet specifications.
  • Recommend changes or modifications for improved efficiency and adaptability to setup and production.
