The Pipe Foreman will assist in the supervision of craft activities to assure optimum productivity and construction compliance. The Pipe Foreman will supervise the lay out, assembly and installation of various sizes and types of drainpipes. The Pipe Foreman will study project specifications. The superintendent will plan sequencing and schedule for pipe installation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Coordinates and supervises daily activities of a 2-7-person crew.

Utilizes heavy equipment to excavate, install and backfill drainage pipe.

Sequence pipe installation to reduce interference with other project activities and the public.

Continually inspects work site, surveying for potential hazards or safety concerns.

Responsible for crew safety. Establishes safe work environment that complies with the Company safety program.

Observes assigned equipment to detect machinery malfunctions. Assures the proper operation and maintenance of equipment.

Reviews and approves employee time reporting.

The Pipe Foreman must be able to climb on and off heavy mobile equipment safely.

Skills:

Capable of running a crew and able to maintain good work ethics and communications. Ability to understand work directions and communicate effectively with management, fellow employees, and Project Manager.

Must have a positive attitude with safety and production in mind, always conscious of Bedding and Shoring procedures for Pipe.

Concrete experience preferred. (Forming and pouring).

Ability to work long hours in all types of weather conditions.

Ability to lift and move 50 pounds.

Ability to stand for extended periods of time, and to stoop, bend, and crouch as required to perform job duties.

Experience:

2+ Years as a Foreman or Crew Lead.

Pipe Foreman. 3+ Years Field Experience -Operating Heavy Equipment, Underground Utilities, Pipe Laying and/or Grading.

Experience with Heavy Equipment Operations.

Extensive experience with reading and understanding project plans, specifications, and contract requirements; Knowledge of the materials, equipment, and tools necessary to layout and complete the work; the ability to calculate slopes, percentages, grades, and evaluations.

Valid Driver's License and clean MVR-CDL is a plus.
