We are currently looking for a Occupational Therapist to join our team. Full-Time Temporary position includes a full benefits package including Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance, PTO, 401k.


Position Summary:Evaluates participant’s level of function to establish treatment programs to improve level of function or prevent disability by helping participants to maintain and/or restore physical potential by means of such modalities as training, exercise, orthotics, and assistive devices. Plans and provides educational services for other Beacon of LIFE health care personnel. Conducts initial assessments and periodic reassessments and documents and reports changes in a participant’s condition consistent with the organization’s documentation policies.


Basic Qualifications:Education/Training/Certifications:· Current New Jersey Occupational Therapy license· Certification with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)· Current driver’s license with proof of insurance


Skill(s):· Ability to evaluate, plan and implement a program of purposeful activities to develop or maintain functional skills necessary to achieve the maximal physical or mental functioning, or both, of the individual in his daily occupational performance and the promotion of wellness.· Demonstrates clinical skills reflecting knowledge of resources and basic treatment skills in the following areas: activities of daily evaluation; adaptive equipment, orthotics design and application; upper motor neuron disease; rheumatology; sensory-motor integration disorders; and the adaptation of physical environments for the handicapped.· Ability to interpret age specific data and provide age specific treatment.· Supervisory, leadership and management skills· Good judgment, problem-solving and cognitive skills.· Knowledge of gerontology and enthusiasm for treating the geriatric population· Patience and strong interpersonal skills· Knowledge of common safety hazards in the home and improvements to establish a safer environment.· Ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team in a community based setting.


Experience:· Minimum of 2 years working as an Occupational Therapist· Minimum of 1 year working with a frail or elderly population
