HOURS:

  • 5:40 am - 4 pm Mon - Fri and some OT on Sat

Scot Forge is a 100% employee-owned company that manufactures custom open die and rolled ring forgings.



We conduct a pre-employment hair follicle drug screen and physical / lift evaluation up to 65 lbs.


Scot Forge has locations in Franklin Park, IL, Spring Grove, IL, and Clinton, WI.


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES-

  • Lift, carry, and turn metal material during forging process. Actively participate and promote a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Stamp and identify all forged parts to maintain proper traceability. Assist Blacksmith with all forging activities.
  • Sweep excess scale and keep dies clean.
  • Assist Blacksmith with all forging activities.
  • Actively participate and promote a safe and healthy work environment. .
  • Retrieve and set up forging tools under the direction of the Blacksmith.
  • Operate various forging equipment to position materials and dies as needed.
  • Load forge furnaces while maintaining traceability and creating the corresponding furnace map per the appropriate procedure.
  • Maintain communication with Blacksmith and crew members through hand signals or radio contact to ensure safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Perform maintenance on forge equipment.
  • Follow policies, programs, and procedures for the reduction and elimination of industrial accidents and provide quality feedback to promote safer work behaviors and conditions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Use of common inspection tools (calipers, tape measure, etc.
  • Blueprint reading
  • Forklift Operation
  • Preventative Maintenance
  • Shop math and computer skills
  • Hand tools
  • Prior experience preferred
  • Crane rigging and operation experience preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent

WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Frequent lifting up to 65 lbs.
  • Varying temperatures in Summer and Winter

We are looking for Metal Fabrication, Utility Workers, Machine Operators, Machinists, Maintenance and Production Associates. Helpful experience includes maintenance, machine operator, measurements, manufacturing, band saw, hand tools, boring, gauges, grinding, sanding, trim, maintenance, heavy equipment operator, etc. Experience with micrometers, calipers or shop math are a real plus.
