General Responsibilities/Job Summary

The Junior Accountant will be working with the accounting team in a variety of areas.  An understanding of full cycle accounting is essential.  The successful candidate will have a good understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, GL reconciliation and financial reporting. 

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Accounts Payable - Complete payments and control expenses by verifying and reconciling invoices, vendor statement reconciliations and maintain vendor relations.
  • Interact with Accounting Clerk and Credit Manager to resolve vendor issues.
  • Prepare and post monthly general ledger entries.
  • Process intercompany transaction.
  • Regularly maintain detailed reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
  • Provide detailed analyses of transactions and variances.
  • Assist with year-end audit.
  • Prepare timely financial statements.
  • Prepare and process 1099's.

Experience Requirements

  • 2+ years of related accounting experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel.
  • Familiar with accounting software, Business Central 365 a plus.
  • Detail oriented, high accuracy, and able to handle multiple priorities.
  • Must have ability to function independently with minimal supervision as well as work productively as part of a team environment.
  • Good written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problems solving skills.

Educational Requirements

College degree in accounting preferred.

Working Conditions

Daily office hours are normally between 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend responsibilities.
