And, because inno­va­tion and sus­tain­abil­i­ty are as fun­da­men­tal as qual­i­ty and taste, most of our day-to-day oper­a­tions cul­mi­nate in a zero land­fill waste facility.

Role Summary

Responsible for general overall maintenance of the building, grounds, and equipment. Interacts cooperatively in a spirit of teamwork with Management and co-workers to provide excellent customer service and ensure product quality. This is a safety sensitive position.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Conducting routine inspections of premises and equipment.
  2. Performing preventative maintenance.
  3. Handling basic repairs and maintenance.
  4. Overseeing contractors when professional repairs are necessary.
  5. Diagnosing mechanical issues and correcting them.
  6. Repairing machines, equipment, or structures as necessary.
  7. Establishes and maintains the necessary policies and controls to assure a safe and orderly work environment; administers plant safety and housekeeping programs.
  8. Is familiar with and complies with SQF Food safety standards.
  9. Knowledge of procedures, work instructions and associated paperwork as required.
  10. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Qualifications and Skills

  1. Proven maintenance experience.
  2. High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  3. Related degree from a technical college preferred.
  4. Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts.
  5. Ability to check blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary.
  6. Ability to use common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches.
  7. Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices.
  8. Experience performing routine maintenance.
  9. Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
  10. Eye for detail.
  11. Professional presentation and attitude.
  12. Be a self-starter and work independently in the absence of a supervisor.
  13. Strong time management skills.
  14. Maintain a clean work area and follow all Food Safety rules.
  15. Welding and Fabrication experience preferred.
  16. Ability to effectively communicate in written, verbal, and interpersonal levels with all levels of the organization.
  17. Must be safety conscious and comply with safety rules and regulations

Physical Requirements

Strong physical abilities. Requires the ability to move about the facility (plant and office), communicate with contacts, and able to operate and maintain office/production equipment. Must be able to bend, stand/walk for 8 hours or more, lift up to 50 pounds.
