Sr. Full Stack .NET and JavaScript Engineer (Legacy Systems to AWS Migration)

Location: 100% Remote

Full time /Direct Hire

Position Overview:

Seeking skilled Full Stack .NET and JavaScript Engineer to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will work on maintaining and enhancing client's legacy systems while gradually transitioning these products to a modern AWS cloud infrastructure. This role involves hands-on development, system refactoring, and cloud adoption. As our client move towards AWS, the engineer will contribute to planning, designing, and implementing cloud-native solutions while ensuring minimal disruption to existing services.

This is a jack-of-all trades type of position, with an opportunity to grow

Key Responsibilities:

Legacy System Maintenance & Development: (60% of the job)

  • Support, maintain, and enhance legacy .NET applications.
  • Debug and resolve performance bottlenecks in existing code.
  • Write clean, scalable code using .NET frameworks (e.g., ASP.NET MVC, Web API, .NET Core).
  • Maintain and improve frontend components using JavaScript (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue.js).

Cloud Migration to AWS: (40% of the job)

  • Assist in the migration strategy from on-premise legacy systems to AWS.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to automate infrastructure deployment using AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, etc.).
  • Optimize legacy applications for performance and scalability in a cloud environment.
  • Participate in designing and implementing microservices architecture for refactored components.

Full Stack Development:

  • Build and maintain both front-end and back-end applications.
  • Ensure seamless integration between the frontend JavaScript and backend .NET services.
  • Develop RESTful APIs and work with databases (SQL Server, MySQL, or similar).
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth feature delivery.

Code Quality & Collaboration:

  • Ensure high code quality by writing automated tests and performing code reviews.
  • Work in an Agile environment, participating in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
  • Collaborate with product managers and designers to ensure alignment with business requirements.

Required Skills:

Backend Technologies:

  • Strong experience with C#, .NET Framework, .NET Core, and REST APIs.
  • Proficient in working with relational databases (SQL Server, MySQL) and ORMs (Entity Framework).

Frontend Technologies:

  • Proficiency in modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, Vue.js).
  • Experience with HTML5, CSS3, and responsive web design.

AWS Cloud Experience:

  • Hands-on experience with AWS services like EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, and CloudFormation.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Terraform or AWS CloudFormation).

Version Control & CI/CD:

Proficient in Git and experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).

Communication & Teamwork:

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical details to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working in Agile teams using tools like Jira or Azure DevOps.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Cloud Sol Architect
  • Experience with cloud-native technologies (Kubernetes, Docker).
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture.
  • AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, Developer, etc.).
