Job DescriptionJob Description

The role & department

This position requires knowledge of basic machining practices associated with cylindrical steel parts using manual equipment such as lathes, mills, etc. It also requires the ability to use precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, depth gauges, etc. These skills will be used to repair and restore precision aircraft components to their original or properly altered condition.

Your key responsibilities

In this position, your main responsibilities and duties are:

  • Work in a safe manner
  • Setup, operate, manual machining equipment
  • Build suitable part holding and alignment fixtures
  • Indicate parts to ensure proper location and orientation
  • Machine/Grind parts to remove coatings and/or damage
  • Machine/Grind coated parts to restore them to original specifications iaw provided technical documentation
  • Read, interpret and apply GD&T (ASME Y14.5M-1994) fundamentals
  • Operate manual lathes, vertical mills, and standard machine shop equipment as required
  • Other duties as assigned

The successful applicant would have:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certification or 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings
  • Aviation experience is a plus
