Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPosition Description:
This position is for a motivated individual interested in learning how to apply automotive finishes and/or epoxies, urethanes or zinc paint coating systems to industrial silo’s, parts or commercial tanks. He/she will learn to set-up equipment, mix paints, record environmental readings and perform cleanup of equipment and paint lines.  A steady hand, natural motivation, positive attitude/aptitude and an outstanding attention to detail are recommended.

Responsibilities:
  • Learn to apply automotive and paint finishes to completed commercial tanks and industrial silos using proper equipment and techniques.
  • Learn how to record environmental readings during painting operations and apply required mil thickness as specified on product data sheets.
  • Mask and unmask using tape or other materials.
  • Learn to assess painted surfaces to identify errors, and perform touch-ups to ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Clean equipment and paint lines after paint system has been completed.
  • Dispose of all hazardous materials in an appropriate manner.
  • Maintain and repair all equipment and perform daily housekeeping.
  • Follow strict safety regulations such as respirator use, protective masks, and safety shoes.
  • Ability to safely operate material handling equipment and overhead cranes.
  • Perform all other duties assigned.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous automotive painting experience desirable.
  • Must be able to wear a full-face respirator.
  • Willingness to be mentored and accept constructive feedback.
  • Practice good housekeeping by keeping floors swept and work area tidy.
  • Solid verbal and written skills with the ability to communicate effectively.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and to stay on task.
  • Maintain accurate work and good levels of concentration.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and also to be mentored.
  • Flexible and eager to learn how to successfully perform in a fast-paced environment.
