The Night Shift extrusion mechanic will be responsible for completing maintenance tasks and repairs while contributing to a safe and cost-effective work environment.



Pay


$30/hr - $37/hr


Role and Responsibilities

  • Perform troubleshooting, preventive and demand maintenance on production lines and peripheral support equipment including electrical and mechanical repairs
  • replace components such as: motors and motor drives, pumps, sensors
  • Experience working on and making safe hydraulic systems and components.
  • Experience working on and making safe pneumatic systems and components.
  • Removing/ Installing transmissions and gear boxes of various sizes,
  • vacuum systems and vacuum material transfer systems and components,
  • make equipment adjustments keeping in mind the "cause and effects" that these of these adjustments will have on quality, tolerances, and order of operations.
  • the ability to troubleshoot find the root cause of the problem and avoiding the use of the "parts cannons" to make repairs and improvements.
  • Work from schedules, work orders, manuals, blueprints, charts and instructions.
  • Use precision measuring devise (multimeters, calipers, etc.)
  • Maintain, repair, and install a wide variety of machine parts, components and equipment.
  • Effectively communicate with peers, production associates, and supervision.
Requirements:


· Must have knowledge of electrical systems and wiring (including 120/480 volts)

· Must have experience and knowledge of machine operation and troubleshooting

· Must demonstrate an understanding of safe work environment and have a proven ability to work safely

· Must have a solid work history showing the ability to maintain a good attendance record

· Must have your own set of standard tools

· Plastic extrusion experience is a plus


Education and experience

· Associates degree/certificate in related field or

· Comparable manufacturing experience

physical requirements

· Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

· Intermittent periods of crouching, kneeling, working in confined areas and in varied temperatures and outdoors as necessary to safely service equipment.

· Ability to lift 50 lbs
