Autism Behavior Technician II

At Behavioral Perspective (BPI), you can become a Behavior Technician and help provide much needed therapy services to children, teens, and young adults with Autism. Don’t worry, all of the training you need is provided with the support of our Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), who are professionals in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).

Behavior Technicians (BTs) are paraprofessionals certified in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) serving clients with Autism. BTs assist in delivering behavior-analytic services and practice under the direction and close supervision of a Behavior Technician Manager, Clinical Director, and BCBA. 

We are looking for behavior technicians with at least six months of experienced as a certified RBT

• Provide direct 1:1 services to assigned learners by implementing all programs with integrity
• Conduct daily group instruction (e.g., circle time, art, motor activities) within the Apple Curriculum
• Follow the behavior reduction and behavioral skill acquisition protocols
• Collect, graph, analyze and record data during each session based on learner behavior
• Assist BCBAs with behavior reduction assessments and skills acquisition
• Serve as the role model for training observations by newly assigned BTs
• Maintain knowledge of all learners’ programs to cover provider cancellations 
• Prepare materials in advance of each session
• Greet learners enthusiastically upon entry into clinic
• Assist with pick-up/drop-off transitions
• Serve as key holder to open/close clinic as assigned
• Communicate with parents/caregivers as needed 
• Seek consultation from supervisor(s) to ensure treatment is provided without disruption to the learner, others, and the environment
• Receive and implement ongoing feedback from supervisors
• Partner with BCBAs to develop targeted training objectives for learners
• Collaborate with clinicians and remain fully knowledgeable on current objectives per learner.
• Actively participate in team meetings and ongoing training sessions
• Report any  issues/concerns upon knowledge of to management
• Follow all health and safety protocols
• Maintain strict confidentiality of client identity and records
• Ensure all PHI is stored in compliance with HIPAA regulations and strictly viewed and handled only in a HIPAA compliant work environment.
• Adhere to all company policy and procedures

• Ability to develop and maintain relationships with learners, supervisors, peers, and supervisors
• Maintain certification through the BACB® 
• Receive and maintain an active QBS Safety-Care certification
• Receive and maintain an active CPR certification (training provided)
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Excellent attention to detail

Education and Experience:

• HS diploma or equivalent
• 6 months+ RBT credential in good standing
• CPR certification (training provided)
• QBS certification (training provided)

Physical Requirements:

• This is a very active role, requiring the following physical abilities: must be able to stand, walk, sit, kneel, spin, crawl, bend to floor, run, climb stairs, reach, grab, push/pull.
• Must be able to see, feel, hear, and speak. 
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
