Job Description

The Strategic Marketing Director leads all marketing activities including the development and execution of division strategic growth priorities and financia goals.  The successful candidate will have a proven track record of growing businesss as well as demonstrated expertise in tactival and strategic marketing initiatives including but not limited to:  market segmentation, competitive positioning, VOC, pricing, product portfolio management, marketing communication, and new product development.  A key member of the Division Leadership Team, the Strategic Marketing Director reports to the Vice President/General Manager of the division.

 

Key Deliverables:

  • Continuous, sustainable above-market growth
  • Develop and execute a focused strategy to maximize the impact of investments
  • Lead and develop a team of high performing marketing professionals while building a collaborative atmosphere within and across departments

Demonstrated Success In:

  • Creating and defining channel strategies
  • New product commercialization
  • Building and executing Annual and Long Range Plans
  • Identifying, leading, and developing talent
  • Evaluating channel programs and promotions
  • Project management, delivering on-time and within budget
  • Creating and executing successful marketing campaigns for both multi-step distribution and retail channels
  • Gaining followership by communicating a clear vision and driving accountability

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required in business, marketing, or comparable discipline; MBA strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive marketing experience
  • Proven experience managing a P&L
  • Experience obtaining & translating end user requirements into successful products and/or services required.
  • At least 5 years of experience motivating, coaching, and developing a marketing team.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Proven application of analytical, planning, forecasting and budgeting /financial skills
  • Track record of developing and executing strategic plans that drive organic growth
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate
  • Ability to learn and apply the unique ITW Business Model
  • Able to hire, develop, retain and engage great talent
  • Able to provide strong leadership
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Powerpoint, Excel, etc.)
