The Senior Accountant will oversee the company's accounting operations and financial reporting.

Job responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory accounting, and month/year-end close processes

• Monitor and analyze accounting data, prepare financial statements, and produce other financial reports for management

• Establish, implement, and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, principles, and internal controls in accordance with GAAP and relevant laws/regulations

• Oversee cash management, including cash flow projections, wire transfers, investments, and banking relationships

• Work closely with external accounting resources to design and build the future state accounting function

• Coordinate and prepare for annual external audits, providing necessary documentation and addressing any issues identified

• Develop and monitor budgets and forecasts - analyzing variances and recommending corrective actions as needed

• Maintain documented accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls

• Continuously improve accounting systems, processes, and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy

• Exhibit a commitment to information security and confidentiality

Qualifications and Skills:

• Strong technical accounting skills

• Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures

• In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

• Experience with general ledger functions and the month end/year end close process

• Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks preferred) and Microsoft Excel

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, leadership, and organizational skills

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

• Accuracy and attention to detail

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work closely with senior executives and cross-functional teams

Education, Experience and Licensing Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting; CPA or CMA certification preferred

• 5+ years of accounting experience
