Social Work Supervisor, Rodney Kirk Center

The Entertainment Community Fund (formerly The Actors Fund), a nationwide human services organization that helps all professionals in performing arts and entertainment, seeks a Social Work Supervisor in our Rodney Kirk Center residence to help enhance the lives of older adults by managing activities that creatively work the mind and body to encourage healthy aging and enable safe “aging-in-place.” These can include cultural arts, social recreation, and other creative/educational activities.
The Rodney Kirk Center is a residence-based social services program with a particular focus on providing support and clinical case management to seniors, their family and caregivers, developing services that will help older residents stay socially engaged and maintain their independence allowing them to ‘age safely in place.’ This program is located within Manhattan Plaza which is the world’s largest affordable housing residence for performing arts with approximately 2500 residents of which 1500 residents are older adults. Manhattan Plaza has a history of developing programs and activities that support their tenants and creates a sense of community. This position will play an important role in supporting and growing programming that continues this tradition.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Social Work Supervisor will provide clinical and administrative leadership to the Rodney Kirk staff. Services include working collaboratively with individuals, their families and significant others providing client centered clinical case management to address a myriad of presenting concerns; addressing the overall function and maintenance of a person’s physical and social environment towards the goals of facilitating physical safety, stabilizing health and mental health. The Social Work Supervisor will conduct assessments and develop plans, provide a range of clinical support and serve as a liaison to internal and external resources.
Working with the team, this position will oversee annual assessments, develop resources, and manage a contract with Visiting Nurse Services as well as a volunteer benefits counselor. This position will collaborate with Activities & Volunteer Program to develop programs and activities that enhance the lives of older residents.
The Social Work Supervisor will partner with property management to identify and support at-risk residents. This position works with all other programs of The Entertainment Community Fund to address service needs and resources.
Administrative responsibilities include maintaining current policies and procedures which guide the program and reflect the overall values and goals of The Entertainment Community Fund.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s Degree from an accredited School of Social Work and State Licensure with LCSW
- Minimum of 5 years post-MSW, with experience providing services to a geriatric population and familiarity with all related benefit programs
- Consistently convey a sense of empathy with clients and demonstrate solid clinical acumen
- Experience providing supervision to direct service clinical workers
- Strong organization and interpersonal skills
- Ability to problem-solve, prioritize and effectively manage time
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- May be required to work an adjusted schedule; evening or weekend hours
PREFERRED QUALITIES
- Experience with or knowledge of Naturally Occurring Retirement Communities
- Bilingual English/Spanish speaking helpful
- Candidate should be personable, friendly, and extremely well organized as well as creative and self-motivated

This is a full-time salaried position based in the Rodney Kirk Center in Manhattan Plaza in Midtown, New York City.
