Rehab Technician

This position is responsible for providing assistance with activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily living to clients residing in the Personal Care Home. The incumbent is expected to promote a home-like atmosphere and encourage positive social experiences and interactions with and between clients.

SCHEDULE: Sunday through Thursday 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Scale 1 High school diploma or equivalent; OR
2. Scale 2 Bachelors degree in a related field; or associates degree in related field with two years full-time (or equivalent) related experience; or high school diploma (or equivalent) with 18 months full-time experience as Rehabilitation Technician One (Scale 1) within the agency; or high school diploma (or equivalent) and 3 years of related full-time (or equivalent) experience from outside the agency; OR
3. Scale 3 Bachelors degree in a related field and at last 12 months experience as full-time Rehab Tech One and/or Rehab Tech 2 within the agency; or associates degree with at least 3 years of full-time direct care experience within the agency; or high school diploma with at least 4 years experience as Rehab Tech 1 and/or Rehab Tech 2 within the agency; or bachelors degree in a related field with 18 months of full-time (or equivalent) experience from outside the agency; or associates degree in a related field with at least 30 months of related experience from outside the agency.
4. Effective communication skills, both written & verbal, organizational skills, knowledge of practical self-care skills & ability to work with minimal supervision.
5. Ability to effectively work with persons with mental illness and/or developmental disabilities & implement support / recovery plans for their program participation.
6. Act 31/33/34 Clearance and FBI Criminal Background Check.
7. Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle during scheduled work hours.
