1. Education:
• College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, Information Systems, Management Information Systems.

2. Training and Experience:
• Minimum of two years of experience with computer operations/operating systems on personal computers and in a mini-computer environment.
• Experience with Antivirus, Encryption, Active Directory desired.
• Working knowledge of Federal Government HIPAA, and HITECH requirements
• CompTIA Security+ certification or obtain within one year of employment

3. Job Knowledge: 2-4 years experience of Windows server administration.

DESCRIPTION:

Under direct supervision of the Chief Information Officer, with workflow coordination by the IT Security Coordinator, the IT Security Technician performs two core functions for the enterprise. The first is the day-to-day operations of provisioning users for our network and application systems, and second, assisting in maintaining compliance with HIPAA, HITECH, and other regulatory requirements. Secondary tasks may include involvement in the implementation of new security solutions, participation in the creation and or maintenance of policies, standards, baselines, guidelines, and procedures as well as conducting vulnerability audits and assessments. The IT Security Technician is expected to be fully aware of the enterprise’s security goals as established by its stated policies, procedures, and guidelines and to actively work towards upholding those goals. Will assist Information Technology and Information Systems personnel as needed. Responsible for one shift, five days per week. Incumbent is subject to overtime, on-call duty and call back as required by the hospital.

Physical Effort: Works in well-lighted, air-conditioned office. Some heavy lifting required. Working atop a ladder with overhead work required. Some travel is required.

Mental Effort: Position is prone to many interruptions and repetitive tasks.
