Status: Full-Time

Reports to: Quality Engineer

Position Summary:

As the Quality Assurance Lead, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest standard of quality and compliance for incoming glass. You will manage the inspection process, address quality issues, supervise the quality inspectors, and provide essential support to our production team. Your expertise and leadership will help us maintain our reputation for excellence and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage Inspection Process: Oversee and manage the inspection of incoming glass from our suppliers, ensuring adherence to our stringent quality standards. Prioritize inspections for high-profile customers and problematic suppliers to maintain top-notch quality.

- Address Quality Issues: Take the initiative in promptly and effectively resolving quality issues that arise on the warehouse and production floor. Your problem-solving skills will be crucial in maintaining smooth operations.

- Supervise Quality Inspectors: Lead and supervise the workload of Quality Inspectors, ensuring thorough and effective inspections. Your leadership will ensure consistency and accuracy in the inspection process.

- Conduct Complaint Investigations: Perform detailed investigations into complaints, isolating inventory, measuring containers, and examining defects to identify root causes and implement solutions.

- Pre-approve Orders: Review and pre-approve all orders before production to identify and mitigate potential issues during the packing process, ensuring a seamless workflow.

- Report Production Issues: Communicate any production issues promptly and accurately to the Production Line Lead or on-duty Supervisor, ensuring swift resolution.

- Maintain Quality Standards: Ensure strict adherence to quality procedures during the production process to maintain our high-quality standards.

- Support Production Team: Provide ongoing support to the production team, assisting in problem-solving and maintaining efficient production operations.

- Train and Develop Inspectors: Play a key role in the development and training of Quality Inspectors, sharing your expertise and knowledge to enhance overall team competence and efficiency.


Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities (SKA):

- Ability to read, write, and speak in English.

- Strong organizational skills and a keen eye for detail.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with measurement tools such as Calipers, Dial Gages, Feeler Gages, and Micrometers.


Education and Experience:

- Minimum high school education or GED, with college courses in math or science preferred, or equivalent experience.

- At least 2 years of quality inspection experience.
