The Mobile Dental Hygienist’s (RDH) main purpose is to deliver appropriate patient care to help aid in the patient in achieving optimal oral health while working within a care team in a collaborative team-based approach. The Mobile RDH will assist in providing direct patient care in outreach locations, manage patient treatment needs and proper case management to support continuum of care, and help to facilitate paperwork for outside resources. These hygienists may also be expected to provide in-clinic care, performing dental measures designed to preserve teeth and prevent the spread of oral disease.

  • Deliver, pick up, The Mobile Dental Hygienist’s (RDH) main purpose is to deliver appropriate patient care to help aid in the patient in achieving optimal oral health while working within a care team in a collaborative team-based approach. The Mobile RDH will assist in providing direct patient care in outreach locations, manage patient treatment needs and proper case management to support continuum of care, and help to facilitate paperwork for outside resources.   • Register patient in DentaSeal, the electronic dental record (EDR), and verify insurance, demographics and the guarantor.
  • Maintenance of equipment, replenish supplies, and load and unload as needed for transportation and setup at the school.
  • Foster and nurture established relationships with school districts, their staff, students and parents/guardians to continue to grow the Healthy Smiles Program.
  • Appropriate and effective time management for scheduling school based dental services.
  • Deliver oral health education to improve and maintain patient overall health.
  • Charts conditions of suspected decay and disease in DentaSeal for referral to a dentist.
  • Place sealants on appropriate teeth to help in the prevention of oral health disease.
  • Apply fluoride and other cavity preventing agents appropriately.
  • Perform sterilization and disinfection procedures in compliance with policy and procedures pertaining to mobile and school-based dental providers.
  • Case management as needed which includes following up with patient’s guardian for those in need of dental care and referral/placement with a dental home.
  • Apply effective communication techniques with a variety of patients, staff, and guardians.
  • Conducts dental health clinics for community groups.
  • Attend internal/external meetings as deemed appropriate by department supervisor and within budget constraints.
  • Knowledge of Scope of Practice per Wisconsin Dental Hygiene Licensure.
  • Demonstrate Knowledge of ethics, jurisprudence and patient confidentiality.
  • Responsible for creating a safe working environment and adhering to OSHA guidelines.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention guidelines.
  • Understand insurance guidelines for allowable services and treatment frequency.
  • Adhere to Noble Community Clinics policies and procedures.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

During down time and/or non-school days, other duties may consist of in-clinic duties including:

  • Perform oral prophylaxis as prescribed by dentist including cleaning of calcareous deposits, accretions and stains from teeth and beneath margins of gums.
  • Perform periodontal treatment and maintenance as prescribed by dentist.
  • Examine gums for signs of disease and perform routine oral cancer screening of mouth, chin, neck and lymph nodes to detect swelling, tenderness or other symptoms or abnormalities.
  • Chart conditions of decay and disease for diagnosis and treatment by dentist.
  • Apply fluoride and other cavity preventing agents as prescribed by the dentist.
  • Update and maintain current health histories noting areas of medical concern.
  • Expose and develop diagnostic x-ray film.
  • Provide clinical services and health education to improve and maintain patient oral health.

  • Graduate of accredited dental hygiene program required.
  • Valid Wisconsin Dental Hygiene License required.
  • CPR/BLS certification required at time of hire.
  • Valid Wisconsin Driver’s License required.
  • Driving record must meet the requirements outlined in our company policy.
