Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Middle School Teacher to join our team in guiding our students through their middle school years. This position will work primarily with students in grades 6-8, facilitating project-based learning, fostering independent study skills, and ensuring alignment with school standards and curriculum.
Responsibilities:
- Project-Based Learning: Design and implement engaging project-based learning experiences that challenge students to apply their knowledge and skills to real-world problems and situations. Guide students through the research, planning, execution, and presentation phases of their projects.
- Independent Study: Foster students' independent study skills by providing guidance, resources, and support as they explore topics of interest and complete assignments independently.
- Curriculum Alignment: Collaborate with the administration and other teachers to ensure that instruction aligns with school standards, curriculum objectives, and gospel principles.
- Assessment: Utilize a variety of assessment tools to monitor student progress, identify areas of need, and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Classroom Management: Create a positive and supportive classroom environment that encourages collaboration, respect, and a love of learning.
- Parent Communication: Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, concerns, and upcoming events.
- Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned by the administration, such as participating in faculty meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and school events.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
- Current teaching certification in Secondary Education or a relevant subject area
- Current IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Demonstrated experience teaching middle school students
- Strong understanding of project-based learning and independent study pedagogies
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills
- Passion for working with middle school students and a commitment to their academic and spiritual growth
