Summary/Objective 

The Finance Associate is responsible for accounts receivable, billing, and expense reporting. The Finance Associate will work across many departments to process and create orders, invoices and cash receipts. They will also be responsible for organizing and following up on collections of open accounts receivable.

 

 

Key Areas of Responsibility

  1. Own the accounts receivable process, from creating invoices, inputting cash receipts into our accounting system and following up with customers on the status of payment to ensure timely collection.
    1. Ensure that checks received in the office are properly processed and maintain required backup documentation.
    2. Accurately enter contracts into the accounting system with the correct payment terms.
    3. Create invoices for customers on a continual basis.
    4. Field incoming customer inquiries and provide customer service and support on a continual basis.
    5. Prepare a current outstanding accounts receivable report on a weekly basis and present the report to senior management.
  2. Work with various departments and provide account information to necessary personnel when required.
  3. Perform other finance tasks as required.
  4. Ensure all customer contracts and orders are properly entered and invoiced.
  5. Communicate project results to management.
  6. Create and send open balance reports. Schedule of invoices sent to customers.
  7. Perform other finance tasks as required.
  8. Approve employee expense reports in expense management system.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position does not have supervisory responsibility at this time.

 

Work Environment
This position operates in a professional office and home office environment. Close proximity to New York City for in person check-ins monthly required.

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and unless otherwise specified, hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

 

Preferred Education and Experience

 

  1. Bachelor’s Degree
  2. 2 – 5 years experience working in accounts receivable or accounting department
  3. Experience with accounting software is a plus (knowledge of Sage Intacct accounting software is a big plus).
