Schedule Monday - Friday; 9am - 5pm

Essential Functions of the Position
- Provide renderings or collages and detailed descriptions to costume shop for all costume pieces within a design.
- Pull costumes from stock as needed.
- Purchase pieces or provide costume shop with purchase information for pieces that will be purchased.
- Pull or purchase fabrics for pieces that must be constructed.
- Design costumes as agreed.
- Adhere to deadlines and budgets as set and communicated by Production Manager.
- Attend measurements, production meetings, dress rehearsals and after rehearsal notes sessions for all shows that you design.
- Construct, pull and maintain costumes for all programs at MCT.
- Take measurements for cast members.
- Laundry for all programs at MCT
- Strike after final performance; providing supervision when needed.
- Check in, inventory, fill out condition reports and repair tour costumes.
- New pattern development including draping and drafting.
- Alterations and notes on costume pieces
- Maintain cleanliness and order in all areas.
- Deliver/ pick up dry cleaning or arrange for delivery or pick up.
- Assist designer with fittings.
- Deconstruct and alter existing garments.
- Help instruct and supervise volunteers.
- Attend dress parade and/or dress rehearsal as assigned by Production Manager
- Pull and restock costumes.
- Machine Maintenance as assigned.
Non-Essential Functions of the position
- Run errands as needed.
- May be asked to help with costume rental.
- May be asked to help with hair and makeup.
- Process donations as needed.
- May be asked to act as Costume shop Volunteer coordinator.
- May be asked to act as costume stock coordinator.
Minimum Qualifications
- Costume design experience
- Must be able to sew, by hand and by machine.
- Must be able to set in sleeves and put in zippers and have experience with buttonholes.

Physical Requirements
- The position will be required to sit at a desk for periods of time that could exceed 4 hours with intermittent breaks as needed,
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
- May be requested to lift up to 25 pounds overhead while using a step ladder.
- May be requested to drive a company vehicle.
- May be required to stand at a cutting table or ironing board for long periods of time.
- Must be able to climb up and down ladders.
