Our solution is to empower thousands of educators to launch microschools in their communities. By automating and eliminating much of the costs associated with traditional schools, we make world-class education accessible to normal American families, enabling rapid scaling.
About the Role
We are seeking an exceptional Founding Engineer to join our dynamic team as the third member. The software we build powers our microschools end-to-end, from helping teachers source real estate and recruit students to providing personalized education and running back-office operations. This is a hands-on role with a lot of surface area to cover and significant impact on our mission.
Interview Stages: 3
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the PrimerOS platform to support microschools.
- Implement features that provide rich insights to parents and enable virtual teachers to deliver exceptional experiences.
- Ensure the platform runs efficiently and scales with the growth of the business.
- Collaborate closely with a small team of engineers, educators, and storytellers to build a new education system.
Candidate Requirements
- 4+ years of experience as a Full-Stack Software Engineer, working in and leading teams in Seed to Series B companies.
- Strong grasp of engineering fundamentals with expertise in TypeScript, NodeJS, GraphQL, Prisma, NextJS, React, and Relay.
- Deep pride in craftsmanship, with a meticulous attention to detail.
- Passionate about fixing the US education system.
- Excited by the unknowns of early-stage startups and ready to roll up your sleeves.
- Desire to work in an intense, in-person environment in San Francisco.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with educational technology and platforms.
- Proven track record in building scalable systems in a startup environment.
