Terraphase is seeking an Associate Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in our Tacoma, WA office.


The Role

  • Lead and manage geotechnical projects, including site investigations, foundation design, slope stability analysis, and geotechnical assessments.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to project teams and clients.
  • Conduct field inspections and investigations to assess subsurface conditions.
  • Prepare comprehensive geotechnical reports and design recommendations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers in the team.

Who You Are

  • M.S. in Geotechnical Engineering, or related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Washington.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in geotechnical engineering.
  • Ability to provide an outstanding work product with strong attention to detail, schedule, and budget.
  • Experienced with local environmental regulators, vendors, and geography.
  • Excellent verbal, technical writing, and documentation skills.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, dependable, and responsive
  • Strong collaboration skills with colleagues of all experience levels.
  • Experience with the geotechnical aspects of environmental remediation (e.g., large excavation projects, familiarity with hazardous waste management);
  • Proficient in geotechnical software and design tools.

Salary

Compensation for this position is based on years of experience, technical expertise, technical education, and geographic location with a range of $105,000 to $135,000.
