Position Summary:

The primary purpose of the First/Surgical Assist position is to assist the surgeon and RN’s in operative procedures. The primary role of the First/Surgical Assist- will be to function as an assistant to the Surgeon.   

Reports to: Clinical Nurse Manager/Director

FLSA:  Non Exempt  


Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Education
X High School Diploma or GED preferredDrag Edit DeleteMinimum Education
x Associate’s degree PreferredDrag Edit DeleteRequired Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.Drag Edit DeleteRequired Skills
Certifications:
x Basic Life Support (BCLS) required within 30 days of hire
x Certification as Surgical/First Assist on hire
