Initially established as a single-doctor practice, our potential for growth is evident, with the capacity to seamlessly transition into a 2-3 doctor practice.
Our clientele is diverse, with approximately 50% of our cases dedicated to large animals and the remaining 50% to small animals, fluctuating with the seasons. At Crete Veterinary Clinic, we offer a comprehensive range of services aimed at delivering optimal care to our patients. These services include state-of-the-art facilities such as Haul-in amenities equipped with hydraulic cattle chute and equine stocks, as well as Ambulatory large animal services. Additionally, we provide essential services like Preventative Care, Surgery, Urgent Care, Dentistry, and In-House Diagnostics utilizing cutting-edge CBC/Chem analyzers and radiology. For the convenience of our clients, we also offer Grooming services and Vacation Boarding.
The large animal practice consists of cow/calf, primary equine care, equine reproduction and primary foal care, and some small feedlot, swine (commercial and show), poultry, and small ruminant work. Our cow/calf work includes pregnancy checking, bull fertility exams, calving season work, and developing herd-health programs. After-hours emergency services are provided for our large animal clients using the clinic vet truck.
The small animal practice includes preventative and sick care, dentistry, and soft tissue surgeries (including emergent, routine spay/neuters. and some orthopedic). Many referral facilities are available in the surrounding area for after-hours emergencies, orthopedic care, and internal medicine.
The support staff at Crete Veterinary Clinic comprises a practice manager, who also serves as a technician, along with three other full-time technicians and two kennel attendants for the weekends. There is a cohesive team-based atmosphere among both technicians and veterinarians.
Located in Crete, Nebraska, the clinic benefits from its proximity to Lincoln, offering a convenient 25-minute commute to shopping and entertainment while retaining a rural ambiance. The area boasts well-regarded public schools in both Crete and Lincoln, making it an ideal environment for raising a family. Qualifications

Doctor of Veterinary degree, or equivalent, from an accredited university
Current DEA License or obtained upon hire

SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS

Ability to sit or stand and work at a computer for long periods of time.
Ability to be confident around animals (i.e., dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, etc. Candidate to confirm species treated with practice leadership for additional clarity.)
Client needs and work volume may occasionally require more than 40 hours per week to complete essential duties of this job. This position may require special working hours, including working weekends, evenings and/or holidays.
Must have mental capacity and processes for reasoning, remembering, mathematics and language ability (reading, writing, and speaking the English language) to perform the duties proficiently.
The noise level in the work environment is moderately high. Ear plugs will be available upon request.
Job requires sufficient ambulatory skills in order to perform required duties while working.
Ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as well as manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 pounds.
Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm-hand-finger dexterity with the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard and operate other equipment as required.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Hospital teammates are routinely exposed to a variety of animals that may bite, kick or scratch, and on occasion, may be exposed to anesthesia, radiation, biological or zoonotic hazards and/or medication/controlled substances.
