Job Summary:
The Systems Engineer will be responsible for designing, deploying, and supporting our organization's systems infrastructure, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security. This role requires strong technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to system optimization and automation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage systems infrastructure, including servers, storage, virtualization, and cloud platforms.
- Perform system installation, configuration, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance and availability.
- Monitor system performance and capacity planning to meet current and future organizational needs.
- Implement and maintain system security measures, including firewalls, encryption, and access controls.
- Automate routine tasks and processes using scripting languages and configuration management tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support IT projects and initiatives.
- Conduct system upgrades, patches, and migrations with minimal disruption to operations.
- Provide technical support and resolution of escalated system issues.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend and implement improvements.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., MCSE, RHCE) preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience as a Systems Engineer or in a similar role.
- Proven expertise in systems administration, configuration management, and automation.
- Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Familiarity with networking concepts, protocols, and security practices.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash) for automation.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
