PURPOSE: Provide high quality, timely chemical testing services to support manufacturing and product development.
JOB DESCRIPTION (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES)
\t- Provides technical support and test services to engineers and scientists in areas such as production, operations, maintenance, safety, quality, process improvement, or product development.
\t - Uses schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions or defined plans to perform testing and troubleshooting on raw materials, finished consumable products, welds, and machine components.
\t - Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles and manipulates technical data using established formulae and procedures and performs detailed mathematical calculations. Understands and can explain the basic test theory and machine operation. Reports results and keeps thorough records.
\t - Maintains assigned test equipment, including preventive maintenance and minor repairs, and ensures devices are operating correctly and safely. Keeps assigned work areas clean.
\t - Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Company’s 2025 Strategy, including continuous improvement (Lean / 5S) activities.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS
\t- Level II:
Vocational Training & 3+ years of related experience or,
High School Diploma or equivalent & 5+ years of experience in related field
\t- Level III:
Vocational Training & 5+ years of related experience or,
Associate degree in related field or,
High School Diploma or equivalent & 7+ years of experience in related field
\t- Has full proficiency in a range of technical processes or procedures (or deep skills in a single area) through job-related training and considerable work experience.
\t - Completes a variety of atypical assignments and is capable of multi-tasking.
\t - Works within defined technical processes and procedures or methodologies and may help determine the appropriate approach for new assignments and install new equipment.
\t - Works with a limited degree of supervision, with oversight focused only on complex new assignments. Also works well as part of a team and supports a cooperative work environment.
\t - Acts as an informal resource for colleagues with less experience and assists with their training.
\t - Computer proficiency, including use of Microsoft Office and other software.
\t - Must be self-motivated and dedicated to safe work practices and product quality.
\t - Capable of lifting loads up to 60 pounds.
